What a campaign management retainer looks like

Monthly planning. At the start of each month we map the upcoming sends: promotions, product launches, seasonal relevance, editorial content. We propose the calendar, you approve it. Nothing goes out without your sign-off.

Segmentation. Every campaign is sent to a segment, not the whole list. At minimum: engaged versus unengaged. More sophisticated segmentation — by purchase history, product category, geographic location — when the list and data support it. Tighter sends drive better revenue per recipient and protect deliverability.

Copy and design. We write the copy in your brand voice and design mobile-first, accessible templates. Not AI-generated, not off-the-shelf. Every email is built for the specific audience and objective of that send.

Scheduling and sending. We handle the build and send in your ESP — Klaviyo, Mailchimp, Brevo, or wherever you're set up. Send times are chosen based on your audience's engagement patterns, not arbitrary defaults.

Reporting. After each campaign we report on revenue per recipient, click-to-conversion rate, and list health metrics. At the end of each month you get a summary view of campaign performance and what we're adjusting for next month.

How this fits with lifecycle automation

Campaigns and flows do different jobs. Flows earn revenue continuously in the background — they're the infrastructure. Campaigns drive short-term peaks and keep the list warm for the flows to work on.

A program with only flows becomes stale. A program with only campaigns misses the compounding baseline revenue. Both working together is the goal.

That depends on your list size, industry, and what's on your calendar. Most clients send two to four campaigns per month. We plan the calendar together at the start of each month and you approve before anything goes out.
Do you write the copy?
Yes — copy and design are both in-house. We write in your brand's voice, not a generic template. You'll review and approve each campaign before it sends.
How do you decide who to send to?
We segment every send based on engagement history, purchase behaviour, and relevance to the content. Sending to your whole list is usually the wrong move — it hurts deliverability and makes the results harder to read.
